As a millennial, I had hopes for that generation. But nope, they are a disappointment.
They are going to be the dazed and confused generation.
Not all of them of course, but too many of them.
I blame baby boomers. They are the root cause of all of this.
I remember in 2023, we had threads here talking about how Gen Z wouldn’t screw up, that they’re more progressive than older generations, while some posters were warning about a shift in Gen Z to the right and for us not to put our hopes on them.
I think a lot of older people forget their own childhoods/youths. Many of us were dumb as hell! And unfortunately many of us haven’t gotten better as we got older either.
Gen Z who voted for this administration solidified their future of most likely: not finding a lucrative career, affording a home, and possibly even retiring. Hope that felt good.
The extent some of them knew of Trump was sharing meme photos of him with one another.
Some were fresh out of high school coping with life through his toxicity.

Right now, we need to stop blaming, and reveling in demographic pains, and rise up in solidarity against the real problems: The Trump cult’s speed run to kill, or at least disenfranchise the most vulnerable among us.
