The purchaser is a Russian asset. Will the US sanction them as well? I don’t think so as they have shares in the biggest oilfield in Iraq. But we’ll see.
Sanction the buyer, Gunvor, next; they’ve been facilitating this shadow game of Russian oil trade for quite some time already. It is amazing that they can remain in business for so long.
Sell it and then freeze the money and give it to Ukraine.
