  1. I don’t know why the Republicans won’t vote to reopen the government. If they would just vote yes on a continuing resolution then this wouldn’t be a problem.

  2. 5 democrats need to vote for the CR and then I have food! Stop blaming trump and republicans for what the democrats are doing! Not buying it anymore! Every republican voted to open the government! The law requires 60 and it is the democrats stopping it not republicans!

  5. I’ll probably get downvoted but owell. I have a wife and sister that both are directors at non-profits. They both say almost half their clients are life-time. They bring in yearly planners and mark out days to use various programs from X to Y date and plan their entire years out living off of the government and non-profits. This isn’t disabled peopled or veterans. Fully able bodied people that could and should be working.

    Like most issues I think there is a common ground between the two parties.

    I’m all for providing for disabled, elderly and veterans and then temporarily for anyone else that lost a job for maybe 6 months. But, able bodied people that have used systems for years no way

    I don’t think either side wants no one to have access.

    Right wingers are worried about the lifetime leeches so burn it all down so fuck the elderly and disabled.

    Left is worried about disabled and poor so we have to include the lifetimers to cover those truly in need.

    We have to start being real and find the middle ground somewhere or we’re going to be stuck in this shit storm forever.

    And for what it’s worth I’m 44 and never voted.

  6. Cruel agenda? Ok, how about not sending millions abroad for pointless programs that are clearly a front for money laundering (USAID) we need aid here! Clearly we have 40million in need, but we keep sending money abroad, let’s agree to not do that!

  10. They have used hunger as a weapon for decades. There is power in starvation and homelessness. GOP doesn’t want any tax money going towards any of those two things or they would run out of loyal workers. Plus all their corporate donors would be pissed because there wouldn’t be money for tax cuts. Why do you think they fight any kind of healthcare reform or single payer system? Why do they hate all unions? That would kill any incentives for people to stay at their jobs because of work healthcare plans. If they had a government plan they could work anywhere and, could even be self employed. What did Dr. Phil or Dr. Oz quote on one of the right wing propaganda channels “A hungry dog is an obedient one”.
