    When are people going to realise that right wing populists, no matter the country, has one goal; to dismantle the democratic process. We see it across the world, and their gameplan is obvious.

    “If we win, we remove checks and balances, find “public enemy nr 1” and blame them for all wrongs, and polarise the landscape even more via “we vs them” (dismantle the democracy)”.

    “If we loose, we sow doubt about the democratic process by calling it rigged och accuse the other parties of cheating (dismantle the democracy)”.

  21. I can not overstate how dangerous and poisonous it is to our democracies, if everyone starts declaring every election they lose “rigged” (and therefore illegitimate). The peaceful and consensual transition of power is everything. We can not lose it. Every unsubstantiated accusation of rigged elections must be cracked down on immediately.

    We didn’t win? It was a bogus election.

    We cheated to win? The election was legitimate.

    We won by a razor thin margin? The people have spoken and have given us a mandate to do whatever we want.

  26. This is not about him losing. Wilders doesn’t mind that he lost. He’s actually relieved, because he loves being in the opposition, where he can scream and shout and tweet all he wants, without having any responsibility. He never wanted to govern, he hates governing, unless he has an absolute majority (75+ seats) or can control Parliament like his partner in crime Orban does.

    This is about undermining democracy and the rule of law. He hates those things, and wants to get rid of it. One way to do that, is by creating doubt, as much doubt as possible. If you do it often enough, a huge chunk of the population will eventually not know what’s true anymore. That’s what Wilders is doing here.

    A new era has begun, and it’s about democratic parties versus anti-democratic parties. Geert Wilders might have lost some seats, but he’s still the leader of the anti-democratic group. Center-right and conservatie parties need to make a choice sooner or later; will they join the democratic or the anti-democratic alliance? This isn’t limited to our own little country, it’s going on in the whole of Europe.

    This is merely the beginning of a whole new PVV strategy to ‘flood the zone with shit’, and spread as much misinformation, lies, and propaganda as possible. And, again, it’s all meant to create as much doubt as possible, and wreck democracy and the rule of law.
