I’ve spent many vacations in Slovenia. Every time I’ve been there, I’ve stayed in the Koper area (Ankaran, Sveti Anton, Črni Kal, Piran, etc.). It’s a really nice region, close to Muggia (Milje) and Trieste (Trst) in Italy, and also not far from Umag (Umago) in Croatia.
I haven’t really visited the eastern part of Slovenia, but I’ve heard there isn’t that much to see there — except for Ptuj and Maribor, which both look interesting. I have been to northern Slovenia, though — places like Domžale, Bled, and Lesce (which, by the way, has one of the most beautiful McDonald’s in Europe), and of course, Ljubljana.
There are a lot of shopping centres in Ljubljana and across Slovenia in general — and at least 50–75% of them have an Interspar.
The most “Slovenian” moment I’ve ever had must have been sipping on a Cockta while relaxing on the beach in Izola. I might be wrong about some things, but I hope I can at least be 5% Slovenian at heart! (I know plenty of Slovenian cities too, so ask away!)

Zmoto si se trst ni italija
eastern parts are nice too, just not tourist hotspots
“…Trieste (Trst) in Italy,…”
No, you can’t be a Slovenian in any way because of this. Try again next year.
Do you hate your neighbour and if he buys a car you have a deep desire to go and buy a better car and show it to him? Do you argue with your neighbours about the 0.5 meters of your land that he “stole” with his “živa meja” (plants)? If one of your relatives dies, does your entire family argue about money and stop talking for 10+ years?
If you can feel the above things deep in your heart, then you can become one of us.
If you feel Slovenian, then you are Slovenian. You are welcome.
The question is though: Are you a Great Dane?
RIP, padu test, ko s rekel, da je Trst v Italiji
That indeed is one good McDonald’s
I spend a lot of time in Slovenia, and dream of becoming a Slovenian one day! You have to go to Triglav though, which I did, but doesn’t make me Slovenian yet.
Can’t wait to go again next week!
do the hills and mountains frighten you? no? you’re fine..
Jonas (*) what are you up to?
(Sorry, I couldn’t help it. :D)
(*) Referring to a certain Jonas Vingegaard
This picture is literally the worst piece of road ever. It *might* look cool.
1. Wild animals everywhere.
2. Years of SCT trucks destroyed the asphalt and no-one ever repaired it – uneven road and potholes everywhere.
3. It’s too narrow, two busses barely avoid each other.
4. Some people drive like it’s the highway (200km/h+)
5. It was used as a drag strip for illegal racing.
6. It was built by Mussolini.
Once you start rooting for Pogačar instead of Vingegaard, you will be fully Slovenian
To become Slovenian, you must rally our people to reclaim Trst after you return from Triglav
picture is from pokljuka?
Are you willing to accept slovenian identity?
Trieste is slovenian
Denmark is my favorite northern country. I confer the title of a Honorary Slovene to you
