Rob Jetten’s Dutch centrist liberal party wins neck-and-neck election race, vote analysis says

1. his party didn’t win if it’s a tie.

   therein lies the problem. since no one can claim to be the largest party. and since no one cares about votes but rather seats. Jetten himself said “the largest party wins the election”

   both D66 and PVV have 26 seats.

2. The right wing leaning impulse against immigration isn’t going to go away with a razor thin margin election loss. As long as the next government formed continues to ignore the issue all it is doing is buying a few years until the next election. If the centrist led government implements some migration restriction that is the lifeblood of Wilders’ party then they’ll take the wind out of his sails.
