Happy new month! What will you be doing today? Disposing of used pumpkins will probably enter into it somewhere for some of us, but what other fun activities do you have planned?

Another day at work with the co-worker who frustrates me so much that I end up with migraines. How can you have worked somewhere for six years and yet still behave like it’s your first day? I’m essentially doing the work of two people but getting paid for one.
Expectation: Research my new eating plan to help with my newly discovered autoimmune disease. Order supplies for meal prep. Dishwasher and then washing. Sort the recycling. Clean the kitchen.
Reality: Sit down at the computer for breakfast and get distracted by WoW and do none of the above.
Holiday holiday holiday! Wooo! A week of relaxation awaits.
I’ve not been the one to organise it so have been totally stress-free as all I need to do is rock up to the airport… But it did mean I nearly forgot to pack my passport 😅
I’m off to London in a bit, to see Toby Jones and David Harewood in *Othello*. I’m just debating with myself where to have lunch. I’d quite like to visit St Bartholomew’s church, as I’ve never been before and I like really old buildings. It’s also really close to the oldest building in London, so a two-for-one. But it’s out near Barbican. And I’d like to pop in to the Graphic Centre in covent garden, to mooch watercolour papers and fancy pens. I can only really do one of these things before I have to get to the theatre. It’s a nice problem to have 🙂
We’re picking up a puppy on Thursday so I’m starting to puppy proof the downstairs. Which as far as I can tell really means sorting the charging cables.
It’s my partner’s birthday today so we’re going to have pancakes for breakfast, open a couple of presents, and go to the garden centre so she can pick out a plant or two.
Just started replaying Skyrim yesterday night. Had a 50 hour week setting up the new store last week so much needed downtime this weekend. Kids will occupy themselves with Roblox and crafts and I will just bimble around the house. Partner is working all day so just see her for dinner tonight. Ocado delivery due in a few hours. Tomorrow out for a pub lunch.
My daughter has been at a sleepover and is due home about 10. Before she comes back I need to go to the shop for some bread, my friend had a baby yesterday afternoon so i said id nip in and feed the cats before she get home at lunchtime
I’ve been for my early morning *(avoiding those things, y’know, people)* to see my not-my-cat cats and got stopped no less than three times by police officers. Not because I was doing anything wrong but because they are looking from an escapee from the local hospital. The cats were fine and very happy to see us. Lots of feline therapy today 😁
Going swimming in a bit, then maybe seeing my daughter get an award at the local radio station that has been mentioned for the last three weeks but still hasn’t been given to her, so I’m not holding my breath for that. My daughter researches, writes and puts together items for airing, produces a programme that goes out on a Saturday, contributes to a programme that airs on a Saturday and trains a lot of people on how to produce articles – she’s only 12! So she probably deserves an award, to be fair.
Have to do some shopping as the fridge is looking rather bare, got some paperwork to do and probably some cleaning.
I lead *the most* exciting life.
Off to Prescott hill climb with the other half, fingers crossed it stays dry! We’ve been promised bacon sarnies by a friend who is working on site, bonus!
Parkrun wanker first thing- push run today before tapering to run Alton Towers Half Marathon in a fortnight. Home, coffee and then see what the day holds.
Last proper day of the school hols, for me, as I picked up an extra shift tomorrow. Might see if the Boy Child wants to do something, this afternoon. Family film night later- got a hankering for some Bond and Tomorrow Never Dies.
I live right next to the park where our town’s annual fireworks display will be held tonight, so instead of doing our long dog walk in the evening like usual i’m going to take him out in the afternoon so we don’t end up having to navigate droves of people walking to/from the park. I might also see if i can get some new wellies, mine are so uncomfortable I dread having to wear them, which is frequently at the moment.
Just woken up so necking first coffee. Waitrose shopping on it’s way, then will be tidying the kitchen up. Then will be upgrading my gaming PC. New case, RGB RAM, new cooling system-keeping same graphics card (9070 XT Reaper), CPU (9800X3D) and motherboard though.
Just fancied RGBing my gaming rig. Using a Montech King 95 Pro case and it looks fantastic, and has 6 ARGB fans included. Can’t wait to get into it and build it up. Only downside is will be redoing the cable management-always the worst part lol.
Then after making a big pot of chilli then spending rest of day with some fruity ales and gaming.
Working all weekend but then have three days off so it’s not too bad
I’m mostly staring into the abyss, yearning for the cold, inky eternity from whence I was dragged unwillingly into this world of misery & lies.
Also, I’m a bit low on milk, so I’ll nip down Lidl in a bit if I can be arsed.
Successfully completed Sober October so planning a pub lunch with a couple of pints. I need to start planning the essay I’ve got due in on 24th November as well, so there will be a mix of work and play today.
Lazy start as waiting in for a parcel then will go for a run this afternoon. Got a few bits of housework to do but otherwise a nice Saturday I hope!
Doing tea-making duty at the Community Allotment Cabin and then finishing off making quince jelly, before going to the Museum Quiz Night (includes a fish supper). Also walking the dog. Could not be a better Saturday!!
NB Anyone getting rid of pumpkins, do not leave them in parks or fields or woodlands. There are a lot of US based posts saying to do this so wildlife can eat the leftovers, but pumpkin is actively bad for UK wildlife and can kill creatures like hedgehogs.
Battling the big SAD so trying to motivate myself to shop for food, clean the flat, and eat something healthy. Really just want to lie in bed and eat biscuits.
Cats woke us up at 6am 🙁
Currently reading my Stephen King book before I make a start on batch cooking. We didn’t have any trick or treaters last night which was quite surprising. We now have two tubs of chocolate that need eating. What a shame!
Gym in an hour. It’s high energy. I am not. I have an absolute shocker of a work week coming up so may get ahead of that.
This week I broke up with my long distance relationship so he can focus on his mental health, had no hot water at the house, had a bump in my car and ended up with a £1,000 vet bill. Soooo, I’ve decided to take myself off to Thailand for Christmas. I want to finish my itinerary today. Please please please help if you have some advice. I’ll be there 3 weeks including 5 days diving. Please and thank you.
A poor night sleep with our 8 month old. She’s not terrible but not a good sleeper. Taking the early shift whilst my wife has a lie in. Heading over to the in-laws this afternoon for tea. It’s nice but it’s the third time in three days and I could do with space
Didn’t go for my daily morning run because of the heavy rain. I will have to run at night after a 12hr shift, might have to do it on a treadmill, which I despise. Two days off afterwards and dim sum tomorrow, so that’s good.
Just woke up, now just chilling in bed with one of the cats snuggled up next to me. Meeting some friends later at a zoo so that should be fun!
Got up this morning with the SO and we sat in front of the fire and chatted a bit. We’ve been together for a little over 10 years, and we’re sat in our own home together. Even tho the last 2 months have been utter chaos, everything is ok. I looked around and realised how much we have. I’m so grateful for all of it. Him, the cats, the place, the things we own. Couldn’t have imagined this 10 years back. Not in a million years. We are so happy. Just a soppy, reflective moment.
I’ve been having back spasms since yesterday, so the lad is doing the shopping today. Ordered a fan for the fireplace online. Gonna chat with my parents later today. Not much else on. Finally. A whole weekend with not much to do. Hooray.
Despite poor sleep (a sick young child), a late night and an early start (baby), oddly positive. We have friends coming over today to hang out.
Unfortunately a really good mood today probably means I’ll dip super low tomorrow. But that’s tomorrow’s problem.
Off shift now so today is my designated not leaving the house and being lazy day
Got into work took a sip of my water excited
It’s bloody sparkling
Day ruined
However have some chill con carne and a jacket potato for my lunch break so it should pick up then
Got woken up at like 1am by the really really heavy rain here thinking a pipe had burst in the house and couldn’t get back to sleep
So crap all
