Parents pull 70 pupils out of primary after classrooms are used to teach adult migrants. Dozens of youngsters were pulled out of classes by furious parents after migrants were being taught English in the same building during school hours.

  1. “A Renfrewshire Council spokesman, who refused to discuss attendance figures of the school, said: ‘The school building is home to a community learning facility, which is used by a wide range of different community groups for classes, during school hours.

‘Access to the community learning facility is securely managed by staff from the community learning centre.

‘The school and nursery themselves are behind secure-entry doors which are managed by school staff.”

  2. There shouldn’t be any need for them to learn English if they are soon to be deported, which they should be!

  3. >Lessons which were held in the community learning centre. The facility shares the same campus as the school, but the local authority said the adjoining school and nursery were behind secure-entry doors.

So not at the school. At a building next to the school that shares a car park. Are the parents protesting at other adult classes being taught there?

  4. Thought immigrants were coming to the UK because they already knew the language as the British invaded their countries years before or does that excuse only work on why they come to the UK.

  5. I do wonder about the calibre of people we have in local government. I mean, if you’ve failed in the private sector due to lack of intelligence, capabilities, vision, work ethic, there’s always a job in the local council for you.

  6. This is what happens when you have 14 years of cut by the Tories government.

  7. Adults being taught in primary schools is just an absurdly poorly thought out idea. The only adults even *allowed* in primary schools during school hours under normal circumstances have to be DBS checked.

Hey, universities currently need a bit more cash. Why not hire rooms from them? You know, the place where the people who normally go there are adults.

  8. As much as I despise the tripe that comes from the mail, this is one major misstep someone has made. Like wtf were they thinking just hosting adult males in a school these days.

  9. Fuck your headline, show me the actual report from the parents you bastard

  10. Adults being taught in schools, DURING school hours is the issue here. Period.

  11. ThEy ArE jUsT RaCiSt ugabuga embrace the diversity.

  12. So, from the article it sounds like there was a school campus with adults being taught in a separate area that was segregated from the area that had children in.

I can see why parent would be concerned and I think that’s fair and I can’t comment on how well the adults were segregated. I suspect that a more reasonable option was available, like having the classes at night.

  13. So migrants learn to speak Enlish so they can integrate and brain dead twats complain.
Ffs how much of a racist cunt do you have to be to have a problem with it.
And the school will be getting paid for the use of those rooms.

  14. Omg why won’t the migrants just integrate?? * Literally pulls children away from them like they’re diseased while they’re trying to learn English *

  15. … How do people fall for the Daily Mail stories?

How did such a massive part of this country become so easy to manipulate by right wing billionaires?

  16. This is stupid, it’s not like the children was sharing the same classroom as the adults. Obviously they would be kept separate. Imagine demonising a person because they want to learn English…..

  17. When we have visited our son’s school during the school day we have to wait in the reception until we are met and escorted by a member of staff for the entire visit.

Just letting a group of random adults, regardless of race or religion, is just a huge safety issue. They’re not going to be locked in the class rooms, and it’s unlikely there is going to be loads of people around to escort people in and out of the school.

It’s not an unreasonable thing for parents to be worried about this.

  18. Yeah that’s a weird thing to do. I’m sick of all the anti immigrant hysteria going around, but this is just an almost comically bafflingly bad decision. Who thought this would be a good idea?

  19. Surely anyone defending this or claiming it isn’t an issue can’t have children of their own, I refuse to believe any sane person with children wouldn’t find this concerning.
