Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has once again tried to push Islamabad’s propaganda, alleging that India wants to keep them occupied in a two-front war, DAWN reported. Khawaja Asif’s remark has come just days after Pakistan was exposed over a secret deal with US allowing use of its land for drone attacks during Turkey talks.

Khawaja Asif’s remark comes as Pakistan is fighting Afghanistan on the western border and was engaged with India on the eastern border back in May during Operation Sindoor.

Not just this, Khawaja Asif has also accused Afghanistan of fighting a ‘proxy war’ for India as he spoke about the two-front war his country is engaged in.

Asif further claimed that India has been waging this proxy war since the era of Ashraf Ghani, and now the Taliban leadership is being manipulated by New Delhi.

Pakistan Requests Peace Talks With Afghanistan Again

A couple of days ago, Pakistan requested peace talks with Afghanistan—just four days after ceasefire negotiations in Turkey failed and both nations resorted to firing.

Pakistan Exposed After Admitting Secret Deal With United States

During fresh talks in Turkey on Thursday, TOLO News sources revealed that Pakistan admitted to signing a pact with the United States allowing its soil to be used for launching drone attacks.

Pakistan further admitted that it cannot break that agreement with the United States.

What Was the Islamabad Call?

As negotiations were underway in Istanbul two days ago, Kabul sought assurances from Pakistan that it would not allow its land to be used for drone attacks and that it would keep its differences with Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) limited to internal affairs.

Pakistan initially agreed to some of these assurances, but then a call came from Islamabad following which they backtracked, leaving the peace talks inconclusive.

Afghanistan Accuses Pakistan of Repeated Drone Attacks

The Taliban leadership in Kabul has repeatedly accused Pakistan of launching drone attacks into its territory and failing to manage its internal affairs with the TTP.

Afghanistan further warned Pakistan to mind its internal affairs—or be ready to pay a price.
