Preparations for the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026, the national competition through which Denmark chooses its entry for Eurovision, are in full swing at DR (the national broadcaster), which is warming up for next year’s big event on February 14 in Frederikshavn.

At the annual general meeting of the Danish fan club melodigrandprixfans.dk at Herlev Medborgerhus, DR Grand Prix manager Erik Struve Hansen shared a number of new details about the upcoming event.

The most important details are as per below:

DMGP 2026 will be a modern, renewed and innovative music show with a new stage, new logo and a new visual identity.
Focus on songs, artists and strong, modern performances with Eurovision ambitions.
Some former participants will return.
Established names will make their debut.
A follow-up of 8 DMGP fans will be involved in the selection process.
The eight performances are being created so they can work in an upscaled Eurovision version.
The competion and voting format remians unchanged.
The jury will consist of members chosen for their music and performace expertise.

Finally, tomorrow the submission process ends for those interested in competing to represent Denmark at the 70th anniversary Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna.
