1300+1400=2700÷2=1350/365=3.69863013699 Hours of Sunlight on Average where I’m from
Is it actually noticeably sunnier in the South East?
Any Wexford or Waterford people here?
It’s definitely way dryer in Dublin then the West.
Mid-Ulster doesn’t want above average sunshine for fenians.
Unionists have been happily in the dark for hundreds of years.
We should cover the SE in solar farms so and battery storage.
Having grown up in West Cork, I refuse to believe this. It must be one of the cloudiest and wet parts of Ireland.
Born and raised in Omagh, the joys of being in the basin of the Sperrin mountains.
I didnt see the sun until I was a man, and then it was blinding!
Limerick does not get this much sun no chaaance kid
Having moved to Belfast over a decade ago, there’s a lot to be said for the Sperrins blocking a lot of shite weather. At home, if you could see An Grianán, the day would be grand. If you couldn’t, bring a coat
What is the actual explanation for the lack of sunshine around mid ulster?
But the blue skies of Ulster and the grey skies of the Irish republic?
Making more sunlight the darker colour was a choice.
I was always under the impression it was sunnier in cork and kerry for some reason
went out with a Spanish woman here for a bit many a year ago.
she is as pale as us but one day i was walking up to her she was cigarette in hand and looking so happy basking in the summer sun, i said to her she looked so happy and she nodded and said most of the time she is here she is like “where is the Sun?”
i miss that woman as i miss the sun lol
For context though the “sunny south east” gets less sunshine than famously gloomy cities like Seattle and Vancouver. There’s a reason Irish and Scottish people are the palest on the planet.
Hate that
Yellow spot is shaped like ETs head and neck
the prods probably stole the sunlight
So, Wexford or Ardglass it is then.
Thon folks in Mid-Ulster, especially cookstown have to use their phones on dark mode lest they get sun burnt!
Whiter than the white of a freshly fallen snow them lot
I love the way that there’s a part of Ulster that even the sun refuses to go to.
