Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent isn’t planning to attend oral arguments this Wednesday at the Supreme Court, which will hear cases seeking to stop the so-called reciprocal tariffs imposed by President Trump on products from around the world using emergency powers.

Trump has said more than once that he might attend the arguments. The tariffs are a central part if his economic and trade policy, and he told reporters in October that it’s one of the most important decisions in the history of the Supreme Court. “I really believe I have an obligation to go there,” he said.

Asked whether Trump was going to be at the court on Wednesday, Bessent told CNN’s State of the Union: “I haven’t seen his schedule.”
