Tomorrow, TRM will hold a press conference regarding their Eurovision 2026 participation. The news comes after a consultation was held between TRM and local artists.

Press conference to take place tomorrow

The press conference is due to take place on November 3rd at 9:00 CET at Chișinău Arena. Whilst no other information regarding the press conference has been released, we can expect that the discussions will be similar to that of the consultation.

Indeed, the discussions of the consultation focused on the format of national selection, support measures for participants on their Eurovision journey and promotion strategies. Regarding the consultation, TRM confirmed that consultations will continue to be held to establish a position on their Eurovision participation.

Moldova’s Eurovision journey

Moldova is relatively new to the Eurovision Song Contest, joining in 2005. Their debut entry, Zdob și Zdub, finished in 6th place, which had remained their highest scoring entry up until 2017. They were dethroned by returners Sunstroke Project and the song ‘Hey Mamma’, which finished in 3rd place. At the close of voting, Moldova received 374 points.

After representing Moldova in 2007, Natalia Barbu returned to Eurovision in 2024 with the song “In the Middle”. She received 20 points in the first semifinal, ultimately placing thirteenth and missing out on the grand final.
