The Moldovan public broadcaster Teleradio Moldova will hold a press conference today at the Arena Chisinau regarding Eurovision 2026. The press conference will commence at 09:00 CET and comes after discussions regarding a potential return have taken place.
On September 30 in Chisinau, the Moldovan public broadcaster held discussions with Moldovan artists and producers regarding a potential return to the Eurovision Song Contest. The discussion focused on:
The format of a national selection
Potential changes to the rules
Promotion strategies
Support measures for participants
Moldova withdrew from the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 “following a detailed analysis of the current situation, as well as the economic, administrative and artistic challenges.” Moldova had planned to compete in Basel, but withdrew following the live auditions stage of Etapa Națională. Moldova had competed annually in the Eurovision Song Contest since its debut in 2005.
