  1. Almost like they should have spent billions working with Israel rather than trying to murder the world leader in Water Management.

  2. So launch some more missiles, that’ll fix the issue /s

  3. Maybe they should have spent less money funding Hamas, supporting Russia, and not trying to build nukes and focused on their water issues!

  4. This is a catastrophe and the government is busy enforcing dress codes on women in public.

  5. Do not, my friends, become addicted to water.
It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence.

  6. ITT many odious comments being extremely cavalier about a humanitarian crisis likely to most affect the vulnerable and not those in power. Gotta score those cheap internet points tho!

  7. Really going to hinder the data center construction.

  8. If they had proper priorities, they could run huge desalination plants with the unlimited solar they have.

  9. There’s a lot of knee-jerk “Fuck Iran” in the comments and while, yes, fuck the government of Iran, there are plenty of Iranian people suffering as a result with no choice in the matter. The history of water management in Iran is interesting and more complex than most realize, here’s a fairly good primer on the situation (video is from two years ago, but this crisis has been brewing for a while): https://youtu.be/aaEhNTpvEN8?si=JzmHHkY1hcKGdtjp

For those who still don’t give a fuck because it’s not America and think we would never be so dumb, read Cadillac Desert.

  10. It probably won’t be the last large city to run into that crisis in the next few years.

  11. I feel bad for the Iranian people. They truly are suffering so horribly because of this goverment.

  12. Hey maybe fighting proxy wars shouldn’t be deemed the most important thing on the agenda when you’re nations lacks drinking water.

  13. The more I think about this the worse it is, in two weeks assuming this report is accurate and I don’t, but even if the regime all hop a flight to Moscow this will take years and an incredible amount of expertise, and money to solve.

This is just the “best case” where the regime fucks off, what if they don’t an internal crisis started by lack of water is gonna get rough quick on the civilian population.

  14. Israelis are champions in desalination. They should collaborate with them, instead of trying to wipe them out.

  15. All that money spent on fighting a proxy war to eradicate people of a certain race could have been used to build sustainable water infrastructure for it’s people. But the Ayatollah chose hate.

  16. Iran is very close to have a water catastrophe. The Shia government is unable to solve this existential problem and will probably be the final straw.

The amount of water wasted is staggering. Worst thing is this whole problem is easily preventable with a sustainable agriculture and manufacturing strategy. If you can green the Sahel, you can green a lot of other places around the world.

  17. It’s almost like authoritarian governments have no idea how to do anything but thought control and violence against their own people. Yet somehow across the world, authoritarian governments are spreading as the propaganda gets easier to make.

  18. Ignoring global crisis because it makes our shareholders sad

Seriously, why isn’t this bigger news?!

  19. “Death to America” 😂😂😂😂

Catch me at the water park in spring 😂😂😂😂

  20. Meanwhile, said official is probably sipping his water of power.

  21. This is how I think climate change might kill us all. This kind of thing is going to occur more and more and eventually lead to increasing geopolitical instability. Civilization isn’t just going to fall quietly. Not when we’ve wired the planet to explode.

  22. I know someone from Tehran, and she told me that with all of these depletions of natural reservoirs – especially that of drinking water – the government is merely allowing “freeing” to happen as an irrational distraction to try and maintain support as though they’ll stay in power.

The mullahs and ayatollah know their end…..and the people will take to the streets.

  23. They also should just hire a bunch of American and British comedians for a festival of fun! Keep the population distracted and the funds flowing till it’s too late, then haul ass to your bunker and wait for everything to blow over.

  24. Why does it feel as if I am watching the start of a Disaster Movie?

  25. Iran is doing less important things to do than addressing their dang water crisis.

  26. Feel awful for the Iranians suffering under this islamofacist regime.

  27. Maybe they should’ve fixed that problem before trying to make nuclear weapons

  28. The most deadly substance on earth. Running out of it could save millions.

  29. The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Israel are all world leaders in desalinization technology.
Maybe Iran should’ve focused and budgeted for that instead of their nuclear program.

  30. Since the global political powers that be care little about climate change, I fear we’re going to read a lot more about droughts in particularly dry parts of the world. While more prospering countries can no doubt make arrangements to prevent immediate disaster, poorer countries as well as those with regimes that do not care will likely see whole groups of people die from hydration or fighting water wars in remote areas. Hearing about hundreds of people dying from thirst or previously peaceful tribes or villages killing each other over water may sadly become commonplace with the direction in which things are currently going.
