American Veterans Fighting in Ukraine Struggle with the Politics of Abandonment

1. Worse than abandonment, their own government actively betrays them.

2. little dated, but eye opening. I didn’t realize how many of those American veterans fighting in Ukraine would vote for Trump.

   They are clearly **not** idiots; they are a select few who actually understand what Ukraine is doing for the rest of the free world and decided to take a valiant stand against the oppressors. It just boggles the mind that they would think Trump was anything other than a russian asset the whole time.

   Still, I wish I had the same courage they did getting on that plane to serve democracy.

3. It is mind boggling as to how ill informed Americans are about the issues that would impact them the most.  

   Everyone knew that support from Ukraine was going to be withdrawn the day the election results came out.  How these soldiers didn’t know what they voted for is beyond me 

4. His 60minutes interview today showed that Trump doesn’t know what day it is let alone what he said or did last week and mentioned that Russia would be a good business partner with America. These soldiers are low information voters and were misled to believe that Trump would be good for them.

5. This is why I have lived and repeatedly suggested for all Americans in Ukraine to at least consider staying in Ukraine and building a life there. Hard to see much good coming from returning to the US. But that’s just me.
