The people there are raging at the moment. They’ve known for years that their politicians are corrupt as fuck and now they cant afford to eat they are flipping out.
It reminds me of that street trader in Tunisia a few years back. He was barely surviving yet every day the cops were shaking him down for whatever money he had. Eventually he flipped and set himself on fire in a public square. The incident is what sparked the entire Arab Spring with revolutions then spreading beyond Tunisia into Libya and Egypt. People in corrupt countries put up with a lot but eventually they will flip and the whole house of cards will come tumbling down. Fair play to what they are doing in Sri Lanka, they should keep burning down the politicians mansions. Sometimes a message needs to be sent that they aren’t untouchable.
And this is how Communism got going.

Never sign up to China’s Belt and Road initiative. So many countries end up in instability due to the debt and then the CCP claims what they see as theirs. Sri Lanka is just another example.
