  2. I remember when Sheinbaum won the presidential election and the world celebrated because she was the first woman president in Mexico’s history.
    Meanwhile we actual Mexicans knew she was just going to continue AMLO’s terrible policies and do nothing to fight the crime organizations.
    Everytime I see a TLDR video about México I roll my eyes over because they mention things like the Mayan train as an actual achievement when in reality none of those projects worked.
    And let’s not forget how her party destroyed the Judicial Power.

  9. Terrible. I’m afraid this is all too common.

    I had a cousin killed this way. His father was running for Governor of Chihuahua. He was running as an anti-corruption and drug cartel candidate. They showed up at his son’s (my cousin) car dealership and told him to get in their car. He tried to flee and they shot him dead.

    The same thing happened to my Uncle’s good friend who was Mayor of Monterrey.

  10. I know comparison is not the same, but Italy had a serious problem with the Mafia being so openly brazen and murdering politicians and law enforcement indiscriminately. How did they solve it so well, at least on paper?

  11. Trump is a shithead BUT *something* has to change about the Mexican dynamic. Military intervention is not the proper first step, but with how integrated the cartels are with government, it’s likely the only solution
