  1. I hope to visit the US again one day, but no way would I go there right now.

I’d rather give the Canadians my money.

  2. Its not just reluctance, if you go through only a layover in the us, tsa will fuck up your locks and other nightmares

  3. Good, tourism income balance is underrated and is what could help keepin Europe afloat.

We should all prefer to travel within europe, even if it sounds backwards.

Tourism is a net positive for EU with a net balance of circa 200b per year, which is equal to the positive trade balance of good and services, a staggering number.

  4. Eh, for the amount of money you save from not booking a trans-Atlantic flight, you’d be able to afford a comfortable flight to an airport in Europe that’s closer than 80 km from where you actually want to go.

  5. Its going to take more than just removing Trump.

Sure, Trumps temper tantrums and TSA detaining people doesn’t help, but even before that, the complete removal of any sense of privacy when landing, demanding your social media passwords, demanding access your phone, possibly even cloning it, that’s a hard pass.

Previously it was government and military officials that were issued burner phones when traveling to the US (a supposed ally no less), but these days companies are doing it as well for employees traveling to the states. You know, like they do for China, Russia and similar.

  6. Well that’s what happens when theres a high risk you’ll get deported to some random South American country for having memes of JD Vance on your phone.
