About time. I want some diversity in our immigrants, for fuck’s sake, not have them all come from the same country.
Can we do an investigation into falsified permits/pr applications that were approved or does all that just get swept under the rug?
Let us clear up one thing. We aren’t fearing fraud, we had and have endless stories of actual fraud. From diploma mills, to Indian owners of chains charging $30 000 for temp worker papers, to places that will only hire temp Indian workers and refuse stacks of Canadian resumes, to completely fake trucker licences.. and on and on… Imagine if Canadians tried that in some other country, we would turn ourselves in.
Sucks bad as there is so many awesome Canadians from India that came and worked their butts off only to be dragged down by so many that came over and have no interest in following rules or being Canadian.
Several years too late unfortunately
As an Indian, I support Canada’s decision.
Finally. Although it wasn’t an issue for long, this immigration channel was rife with abuse.
Every country has filth, we needed a better filter.
They knew what they were doing years ago.
Good. This has been on going issue for years and years. But no one says anything because you’d get called a racist.
This doesn’t happen at legit universities or colleges but there are schools in Canada where the student population is 95% people from India. That ain’t normal. It’s a diploma mill.

I attended a set of college classes that consisted of almost entirely international students, and I’d say about 80% of them were Indian. Anyway, the interesting thing is that the majority of them didn’t even pretend that they were here to learn. They ditched class in favour of working minimum wage jobs, put zero effort into any projects and did the bare minimum to scrape by classes, and they were very clear that the only goal was to obtain PR by any means possible. It was actually pretty disappointing to see that those people were stealing opportunities from other international students who might actually make something of it.
> In 2023, Canadian authorities uncovered nearly 1,550 study permit applications linked to fraudulent letters of acceptance, most of which originated from India, Canada’s immigration department told Reuters in an email.
> Last year its beefed-up verification system detected more than 14,000 potentially fraudulent letters of acceptance from all applicants, it said.
We need to close the doors for a few years to make up for those who have not left yet after their permits expired.
Clean up the fake colleges. Shut them down.
Canada is refusing basically everything now. There’s an AI screening tool and it seems that everything is being rejected regardless of validity.
Finally. It’s been a well known scam for many years
[Canadian] Government officers told to skip fraud prevention steps when vetting temporary foreign worker applications
August 30, 2024 ·
Canada does not fear Fraud.
https://degroote.mcmaster.ca/articles/in-the-news-government-officers-told-to-skip-fraud-prevention-steps-when-vetting-temporary-foreign-worker-applications/
From the article:
>Beginning in January 2022, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) directed staff to apply “streamlining measures” when evaluating the legitimacy of applications by employers who want to hire temporary foreign workers.
>According to internal ESDC documents obtained by the Star and interviews with a current ESDC employee, routine checks meant to ensure the system is not abused by unscrupulous employers have been suspended in an effort to process applications faster.
>Those checks include contacting employers to confirm they actually applied to hire a worker, verifying that lawyers and consultants applying on behalf of employers are in good standing with their regulator, and clarifying the overtime, vacation and benefits promised to the worker.
The anglosphere has a problem with Indian visa scammers.

Too little too late. Need to deport all fake immigrants
And what are they doing to hold the colleges accountable? The agents who are bringing these people in?
Thank God. FINALLY Canada is doing something to prevent scammers from entering
Should also review PR and retroactive these scammers.
Deport
Where was this when I was in college and my program was full of those fake students that didn’t study and mostly didn’t show up and caused all sorts of congestions and unpleasantness?
Is anyone going to be held responsible for all the damages they inflict to the economy and the home rental market?
might get into trouble for this, but I’m from India, and Canada made a massive mistake by allowing not just mass immigration, but mass fraudulent immigration from the most religiously radicalised and backward regions in India (The Greater Punjab region) . It’s one thing to have selective immigration for engineers and quite another to import chauvinists of the worst sort en masse.
Rejection is not enough. There should be mass review of degrees and those who got them from fake degree mills need to be deported ASAP
Illegal Indian aliens disguised as students are being recruited by shameless immigration consultants (mostly Indians/SE asians) to useless sham puppy mill colleges/universities in Canada, where these same aliens register but never attend these crooked schools only to disappear into the underground workforce or worse, to a life of crime, drugs, extortion and violence. The fact that Canada’s federal government and department of immigration, refugees and citizenship actually encourages this level of corruption is a shame, a disgrace and an embarrassment to Canada and Canadians.
Please do Temporary Foreign Worker fraud and asylum fraud next!
Maybe do something about the diploma mills.
Australia, take notes…
They need to get that number to around 96-97% rejection.
A shockingly high percentage of Indian nationals are unemployable.
