  1. I honestly think they are going to try the circular method where they all just pass money around their small group and say it’s profit. Heck it’ll probably even work for a while.

  2. Think of it this way

TEN yes TEN companies currently have 70% of the US Market

  3. That’s a next-quarter problem, not important right now.

  4. The difference between employees and consumers?!

  5. Hold on what about the stock though. I can’t believe you didn’t think about that. And somehow, also, AI in there somewhere too.

  6. They will worry about that next year since US public corporations myopically manage themselves quarter to quarter. Itโ€™s shocking done of these public companies last as long as they do.

  7. lol thereโ€™s a book I read that kind of speaks of this, its โ€œFederation Trilogyโ€ by Tony Harmsworth. I think itโ€™s self published. But its premise is an alien civilization that meets humans and offers them entry into their civilization. Americans were the only ones that object to joining the federation because the federation was essentially a communist system where the AI and robots equally distributed resources, the American president ends up changing his mind but just when heโ€™s about to join the vice president sets off a nuclear bomb in the UN in NYC saying that America would never join. So America is left out of the federation but the rest of the world joins. Itโ€™s really a gem and Iโ€™m pretty sure I canโ€™t explain it enough, but so much of what happened in the Federations history is essentially playing out in real life (the author has chapters basically telling history at different points that leads up to the creation of the federation.) please if you like to read, give it a chance.

  8. The government when they print money and give it to companies. Because the only thing they will have to point to and say “everything is amazing” will be the stock market.

  9. There’s a reason why MR D T mentioned companies shouldn’t report Qtr to Qtr and report annually or report whenever they want or something…

  10. The 1% are dismantling capitalism and installing themselves as feudal lords. That’s the answer.

They’ve noticed their dependency on us filthy consumers and employees and they *do not like it*.

Their answer is something most Americans (including subby) find unthinkable: the end of capitalism.

Not with cool Star Trek utopia, but monarchy and feudalism backed up by modern military weapons and automation.

A small group of engineers to keep the drones flying and a small group of thugs to keep the engineers in line.

That’s the plan. So far they’ve been pretty successful with it.

  11. that’s why I said earlier it’s gonna be a lot of stuff sitting on the shelves collecting dust.

  12. Yes, until you realize that the wealthiest 10% of people in America are 50+% of all consumer spending, and you begin to see the real endgame of all this. Technofeudalism. Donโ€™t have to worry about poor people spending or not spending money if youโ€™ve made them all your serfs forever.

  13. It the C level execs would have got their fat bonuses this year for reducing costs and improving margins
    So why think about tomorrow?

  14. Theyโ€™re going to shrinkflation everything more and use worse suppliers for their products. Movie theatres will close and they will get more luxurious and charge more for the top 10%. NFL games will be once in a lifetime like a wedding and they will still find people willing to pay.

  15. I still think a rent strike plus work strike is the way, because without rent and without workers, the rich just have silly accounting games.

  16. Well Iโ€™ve been thinking about this. Ultimately the rich wonโ€™t care about the results of these companies are their wealth will be elsewhere. They are more likely looking at the next stage for their multi generational wealth and how they can install themselves far from the baying masses.

The huge energy requirements of AI will result in greatly increased heat load into the earthโ€™s system pushing the planet further towards the brink. The most obvious solution to this is to offset the increased electrical generation requirements by reducing energy demands and heat sources elsewhere. This can quickly be achieved by some major extermination events to greatly reduce the earths population, improving the future for those lucky ones left behind. Maybe Covid was just testbed.
