A few hours after announcing its return to Eurovision 2026, the Moldovan public broadcaster, TRM, revealed new details regarding the national final.
As announced during a press conference held this morning, Moldova will choose its entry for Eurovision 2026 through a national final that will take place on January 17 at the newly built Arena Chișinău.
At the same time, TRM announced the following regarding the selection process:
A long list of artists will be selected by TRM and the producers to take part in live auditions.
These auditions will not be broadcast, unlike in previous years, but will be used internally to determine the finalists for the national final.
As we wrote in our previous article, Moldova’s return to the contest comes after a one-year absence, with TRM appearing determined to present a more dynamic and modern selection process.
By hosting the national final at Arena Chișinău, the country seems set to raise the production level of its national selection — a move that could signal a more ambitious approach for Eurovision 2026.
