Keir Starmer: Emily Thornberry defends the Labour leader’s alleged lockdown breach

  1. Sure, but Keir is on record as saying the mere fact that a police investigation is underway means its serious and flagrant enough for colleagues to stand up and say they’re not putting up with this any more. That they need to look themselves in the mirror and ask themselves why they are supporting this person..

Shame Emily doesn’t practise what Keir preaches. She’s a colleague.

  2. >The Shadow Attorney General said the event was “completely different” to the series of events at Downing Street, which she said were pre-organised as a celebration.

It should be no problem for Starmer to say he would be happy to resign if he broke the rules, and the quicker he comes out with a statement, reassuring everyone he will do the decent thing, the better.
