  1. We had completely different ideas about it in Poland. We rebuilt the old styles in the centers. And built Communist living spaces in surrounding areas. The old towns were mostly reconstructed where the money for it was available. Thankfully.

    We do also have so fuck ups though. It happens.

  2. Looking at this people also must remember how poor after-war Europe was. Europe was seriously lacking housing and infrastructure, people built the houses with the best they had. A lot of old surviving housing was also in a slum like state, at least this provided some level of living standard for enough people.
