The Irish Times…

  1. I don’t see the conflict. The luxury house sector is very seperate and a different issue. Such articles are usually puff pieces, but its light entertainment and gives people interior design and garden ideas. There is an idea that newspapers get too much money from estate agents, but I don’t know if that is the case.

  2. I went past anger with the landlord parties after they bailed out the banks. Every parent who voted ffg after that can not complain about their kids not being able to afford to move out.

Edit to add sf also voted for the bank guarantee.

  3. They might seem linked but in many ways they’re not, housing shortages lead to ridiculous house prices but a palatial house in Howth is always going to be multiples of what someone with a regular income can afford

  4. Would have been more poignant if the top article was about the man who died in a tent, in town the other day.

When housing becomes a commodity and not a right, people die.

  5. I fucking hate those house reviews in the Irish Times.

So frustrating when the majority of young adults cannot get accommodation to rent or buy

Its such a slap in the face when they love fawning over ViCtOrIaN SpLeNdOuR

    Fuck them
