The Republic of Ireland Women’s National Team have been drawn in a group with France, the Netherlands and Poland as part of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

The Girls in Green, who recently secured their place in League A of the UEFA Nations League following a tight victory against Belgium in a Promotion/Relegation Play-Off last month, were drawn in Group A2 earlier today.

Only the winner of Group A2 will qualify automatically for the 2027 tournament in Brazil. However, Ireland is still guaranteed at least a play-off if they don’t top the group.

The qualification series will be played across double-headers in March, April and June 2026, with the playoffs held in October.

Carla Ward’s side will be looking to make it to the country’s second-ever Women’s World Cup after making their competition debut in 2023 when they competed in Australia against the co-hosts, as well as Canada and Nigeria. This time, they’ll be aiming to be one of the 11 European teams to secure a place in Brazil through these Qualifiers.

The Qualifiers will be played on the following dates:

Tuesday, March 3rd | Match Day 1
Saturday, March 7th | Match Day 2
Tuesday, April 14th | Match Day 3
Saturday, April 18th | Match Day 4
Friday, June 5th | Match Day 5
Tuesday, June 9th | Match Day 6
