German anti-nuclear stance is so fucking stupid, it’s unreal.
Austria, Luxembourg, Portugal and Denmark don’t have any nuclear powerplants!
German-speaking countries being illogical and anti-science? Shocker. They probably think we’ll save the planet with homeopathy and star signs.
For the love of god, Germany, improve your science education.
Shame to have my country be one of these countries. I can see that a nuclear plant in Denmark might not make sense, very expensive and not enough population among other things, but to oppose it being given green status like this is shameful. Although shameful is becoming a sad standard for our government
Okay, but rejecting a solution brings the expectation that you’ll suggest something else….
So, where is that proposed solution? Nothing? Crickets? The planet is slowly being killed and you’d rather continue that than settle on a middleground that is nuclear?
Fucking….
Nice
so if I’m keeping scorecorrectly it’s 10-5 in favour of nuclear so far?
This is an impediment to investment and subsidies and will shake stakeholders. Without nuclear energy, there will be no stable energy reserves and prices will vary. The production and replacement of new solar and wind power plants will not be able to “pay off” their carbon footprint, let alone reduce anything. And when I hear about the grandiose green hydrogen projects, we will need a lot of space and energy, and the operators of energy companies will just have to wait for a place to resell the energy produced in another country, I already see that in Norway. Nuclear power plants will have a smaller impact on the environment, and if we look at the moment, wildlife is developing in the Chernobyl and Fukushima breeding grounds, which is playing a deterrent effect on human activity.Otherwise, if they doubt nuclear energy, let the countries with reactors stop the flow of these plants.
Portugal and Denmark, I am mostly disappointed and expected more from you. At least you aren’t hypocrites.
Austria, Germany, and Luxembourg have the absolute worst track record on climate within the EU. They are basically the club of shame.
Luxembourg, despite being the richest EU country has the absolute highest emissions per capita. Shame.
Germany is closing perfectly safe and functional nuclear plants at the cost of €20-30B (exact amount is not public). They could have just kept them open until end of life, closed some coal plants and put the extra €20B in offshore wind or something, if they had any concern for the climate. Shame.
Austria has so much hydro, the same as countries like Sweden and Switzerland, yet they are climate laggards, while those other countries are climate leaders. Shame.
Sick of the anti nuclear crap ! I am not big on reducing consumption to save the planet. They only way out of this is ENGINEERING! Nuclear is the first step.
Austria, Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg and Portugal can go fuck themselves.
Please Italia join the 5!
We dont have any operational plants and building new is too expensive, renewables are cheaper to build out, where italia is lacking anyway.

Such a shame Germany is one of them.
