California-based startup Reflect Orbital aims to build a swarm of 4,000 giant mirrors in low Earth orbit to "sell sunlight" to customers at night. Experts warn that the mirrors could mess with telescopes, blind stargazers and impact the environment.

One step closer to privatizing the sun.
Two can play at that game.
My startup, Refract Orbital, will offer suntime leases to Reflect Orbital from a series of servo-lenses slightly above Reflect Orbital’s mirror array’s own orbit.
Lease term expires, we move the lenses. Just restart and we’ll shift ‘em back.
But don’t pay on time? We’ll light your house on fire from space.
Much better articles that goes into just how impractical this is.

The feasibility of it is a joke to modern technology.
For one theyre creating a mega death ray because theres no way to send the energy down besides beaming. The problem is that its not like a pencil thin beam. We are talking something a mile long.
So anything in that death beam ray will get instantly blown up.
Imagine how russia would react if we casually send up a solar death ray into orbit lol.
