  1. I love seeing these women stick up for each other. In all the videos, you can see them standing with each other supportively during interviews, making sure their peers are being respected by modeling that respect. Class acts.

  2. Those who can…. Model.

Those who can’t…. Become dumb officials

  3. I’m glad they walked out, but it’s a weird line to have been crossed. Getting called dumb is offensive, but participating in competition that promotes unrealistic standards is fine.

  4. Years ago I was on a press junket with Miss USA, Miss Barbados, Miss Jamaica, and Miss Venezuela. These were all women of exceptional character, secure and powerful personalities, and charming as the day is long. And they were game for all sorts of adventures during the tours; I won’t say they were never afraid, but I will say they always stood up to any challenge.

They were all besties, too. They loved each other and each one had the sixes of all her sisters. This walkout is of no surprise to me.

Also, and they all confirmed this independently, the accusations leveled at him for walking unannounced into their private dressing rooms backstage is accurate. This was twenty or so years ago, long before his political career.

  5. So let’s just stop this, Superficial beauty pageants often emphasize the physical and prioritization of appearance over the inner qualities and it can’t be helpful

  6. Poor B, even when she won Mexico one of the runner ups complained in social media. Can’t catch a break and she’s really nice.

  7. The ugly Thai tycoon thinks he can boss foreigners around like how he treats his staff. What an asshole.

  8. Don’t let anyone take away your dignity. ❤️🇲🇽

  9. >’This is about women’s rights,’ she said. ‘I’m so sorry, we need to do something bigger. We have respect for everyone, but this is not how things can be handled. To trash another girl — it’s beyond disrespectful and it’s nothing I’ve ever done. That’s why I’m taking my coat and I’m going.’

I *hate* that, as women, we are conditioned to preface standing up for ourselves, or even just existing, with an apology. We have to because we never know how advocating for ourselves will be received, so we have to “be nice” about it just in case we end up pissing off someone who may not like our “tone” or whatever.

  10. Does anyone know what she said? She could’ve said something fucking dumb

  11. Poor girl deserves better than being treated like that, I read the whole thing.

    >!I want to punch this nawat guy in the BALLS!!!!!<

  12. So pretty she made the official say something dumb.
    She won

  13. It’s pretty crazy that anyone actually gives a shit about beauty pageants anymore. Like. Really?

  14. Do i get it right, that she didn`t go for an obligatory meeting with sponsors as she is required to do as a Miss Universe?! This is indeed a dumb thing to do.

Behaving yourself after such a failure is a nonsense, I hope she gets sued.
