  1. History begs to differ. You know a guaranteed way to not win? Pacifism.

  2. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I agree with him

  3. The people dogwhistling violence here are as dumb as maga.

There’s no world where a conflict with Venezuela ends well and any domestic conflict stateside would kill millions of the world’s most vulnerable

  4. Catholics don’t even listen to the Vatican.

    Why would anyone else?

Leo seems like he’s a decent guy, but the religion has the moral credibility of Ghislaine Maxwell.

Civilian casualties are reported abroad as a direct result of the president’s strikes in the Caribbean.

Senator Elissa Slotkin of Michigan is telling us as of the last 120 hours that Department of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth AND President Donald Trump are unanimously refusing to present detailed listings of anti-terrorist action strike targets. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY

    https://youtu.be/fnUO0Plcpbo

NATIONAL SECURITY DIRECTIVE NSPM-7 directs the department of justice to to pursue the free speech and expressions of citizens affiliated with organizations that are to be considered domestic terrorist organizations, now to include under the Executive Order’s directives: “anti-capitalist”, “anti-american” and “anti-fascist” political organizations

NSPM-7 was drafted by Miller and is being used to justify bringing the full force of the federal government down on american citizens

call your senators and say “I’m calling about NSPM-7. Please demand full congressional access to any terrorist-designation lists, require compliance with the War Powers Resolution and AUMF limits, and protect civil-liberties safeguards so peaceful advocacy isn’t chilled. I want transparency, oversight, and a public explanation of scope.”

  6. There goes the pope. Spouting off all that love thy neighbor crap. He’s not a real Christian!

  7. Watch the Pope SLAM and HUMILIATE the left/right, something that people QUIETLY ARE SAYING…etc etc.

Literally 60% of all Newspaper and YouTube headlines these days.

  8. I have not been a good Catholic but I love our Pope!

  9. No… no im pretty sure the catholic church did A LOT of winning by using violence.

  10. Oh I forgot that every major war in human history was won with rainbows and hugs.

Source: Am Catholic, and a Military Veteran with three tours. The Pope is wrong. Whether we need to be in Venezuela or not is debatable, but violence is the only way you win a war. Regardless of what that war is fought over.

  11. Pope speaking on anything meaningful around the world means absolutely nothing in todays age.

  12. Life hack for being a pope- once or month or so, just choose something the US is doing and make a dignified statement against it.

  13. Pope becomes MAGA enemy any minute now. Trump sends JD to take him out like he did the last Pope.

  14. The Venezuelan people certainly aren’t winning with the violence already going on there.

  15. If American Catholics cared about the teachings of Christ they would be very upset right now.

  16. Faith didn’t save Americans from a pedo and felon president neither

  17. The recipient country of a US intervention never wins

  18. Whats up with headlines using “slams” so much? Makes it seem like every disagreeing comment is a WWE feud.

  19. i think with overwhelming violence you always win. You just have to keep it up forever.

  20. Yes, Trump is a vainglorious idiot and an asshole.

BUT, I am genuinely curious as to what the alternative solution would be. Millions of Venezuelans have been driven to poverty due to Chavez and Maduro’s own policies. From a rich oil country to 80%+ poverty rate with 50%+ extreme poverty rate according to the UN in 2024.

Eight millions Venezuelans have left in this largest refugee crisis in South America burdening many of its neighboring countries. Refugee are so desperate that many have to resort to prostitute themselves in order to survive.

A democrat president will not have the backing from his party to do anything militarily to Venezuela. Which leaves us with Trump. Striking boats who could be filled to the brim with refugee is really bad and totally evil, yes. But my utilitarianism streaks says that it it somehow drives the two nations into war that resulted in the ending of Bolivarian Revolution then I’m all for it.
i.e. is it not “better” to have a few thousands dead in a short military conflict instead of the tens of thousand excess death Venezuela is having right now from poverty ( drastic rise in maternal mortality rate, death due to severe malnutrition, rise of measles etc ).

  21. A war with Venezuela might be in favour of Trump.

He could claim to fight *Drug Trafficking and Crime*. This would appeal to those who want *Law and Order*.

The US has history with *Regime Changes*, especially in the southern Americas. Trump and U.S. policy reportedly aim to remove Nicolás Maduro from power, branding him as an illegitimate autocrat involved in illicit activities. Overthrowing Maduro would serve to reassert American dominance in the Western Hemisphere, counter Russian, Chinese, and Iranian influence in Venezuela, and reaffirm the Monroe Doctrine principle of limiting foreign powers influence in the Americas.

*Energy and Economic Interests*: Venezuela holds some of the world’s largest oil reserves. Controlling Venezuelan oil resources would serve U.S. energy interests and strategically weaken Cuba by cutting off an important oil supply, aligning with Republican goals of destabilizing regimes allied with leftist governments.

*Elections*: Trump could use a war with direct involvement by the US military to delay the presidential election in order for him to stay longer than his actual term in power.

IMHO there’s a good chance of Trump becoming the first dictator of the US, if he isn’t already.

  22. Oh shut up. How does he think Christians spread their bullshit across the world? Because it wasn’t handing out blankets.

  23. lol, how the f you think US going to survive without robbing other resources?

  24. I’d never suckerpunch my dealer for low quality stuff ykwim

  25. Of course Violence wins, that’s exactly how Wars are fought and won.
