Hi poor fellows 😃
Have you tried the Emilia Classic from Lidl? Any opinion about it? 500g costs just 1.15 euro. The packaging looks cool and they write premium. Should we trust them for the price 😆? I will try it next days after I finish my last pack of Paulig 😢. Capitalism got me 🫡.

  1. Absolutely horrible. Context: I’m those who tend to like even that generic Nescafe Murukahvi. This how ever shall not pass. Ever.

  2. Vile trash on the level of xtra coffee, and I’m not a coffee snob.

  3. Never even seen that coffee. If it costs 1,15e it can’t be good. Probably something they swipe from the floors off a roastery.

  4. I can usually drink most coffee as I use milk with mine but had this at my mom’s and it’s bad.

  5. But it says premium and classic, they wouldn’t write that on the package if it wasn’t true right?

  6. Its okay, especially for its price. And its better than Juhla Mokka.

  7. “Premium” is just a bullshit marketing term that doesn’t mean anything.

That being said, I think Emilia is actually pretty decent.

  8. People might say it’s myrkkyä because everyone drinks Juhla Mokka in Finland

  9. It is just an off-brand that no one has heard of, but the poorest people will buy.

  10. It’s pretty ok, especially for the price. Pirkka coffee is way worse.

  11. Not good but at least I am able to drink it. Probably not gonna buy it again though.

  12. There is certainly some room for savings in the coffee business, and if the pack was, like, 20% cheaper than the known brands, then I would not hesitate to give it a try.

But for that price, I don’t need to try it to know that it is going to be bad. You can’t bring proper coffee to the market for 1,50 per 500g. It is just not possible.

  13. I think this is the best of the cheap ones(Xtra, Pirkka etc). Not especially tasty, but does the job.

  14. I never learned to like it. It is too dark roast and here it costs 2,59 €. Robusta bean has twice as much caffeine in it, so drink less, save more.

  15. it is cheap and drinkable. while it does not have the extra aromas of more expensive coffees, i have heard the experts say that these darker roasts are more forgiving for any errors in the taste.

so while you are not getting anything special, it is still easier to make a drinkable cheap dark roast than a light roast.

  16. it’s probably made mostly from Robusta beans instead of Arabica, which are cheaper and have a stronger, more bitter flavor and more caffeine too. Lidl also cuts out middlemen by buying directly from producers with much larger scale
