Fun fact. There are two hills surrounding the monastery, Mother in law and Son in law. Many Serbs don’t know this and didn’t learned at school, including me. My grandma told me.

[Manasija](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manasija) was built by [Stefan the Tall](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Lazarevi%C4%87) between 1406 and 1418. These walls portray Serbia in the first half of the 15th century: constant fear of the imminent Turkish invasion.
