1. There are papers going back into the 1800s pointing this out. I’ve seen articles from around 1910 forward.

   There clearly wasn’t enough warning to avoid this.

2. How the climes have change. This was released during the *Reagan* administration.

3. On a round planet, if you kick the can hard enough, eventually it hits you in the back of the head.

Note: this warning came six years *after* physicist Edward Teller’s [1959 keynote speech at the American Petroleum Institute’s annual conference](https://www.theguardian.com/environment/climate-consensus-97-per-cent/2018/jan/01/on-its-hundredth-birthday-in-1959-edward-teller-warned-the-oil-industry-about-global-warming), warning that carbon emissions were leading to global heating that would raise sea levels and wreck the world.
