He can wrap himself in cling film and insist on being called Madam in the privacy of his own home if that’s what floats his boat
Listen my son used to ask everyone to call him Luke Skywalker so we did it to humour him even though we knew he obviously was not. Same vibes here imo – everyone knows he was stripped of his titles and is disgraced. There might be some people fearing for their jobs who do what he asks…everyone knows he lost his titles though.
>He insists it’s his birthright — not something the King can erase.
Actually, the King (and Parliament) can
He can call himself Anastasia Beaverhausen within his four walls if he so chooses. Why he still has staff, and why they would want to work for him, is another question.
I can’t help think poor guy. He’s finally met some hard consequences of his abuse, and entitlement. It must be like having his whole world turn upside down. I hate to say it, but I feel some human empathy with that man. I have experienced serious abuse myself, so maybe I just have a flash of Stockholm syndrome. But what a fall for this man. I can understand that he needs to hold on to the old world, inside his own home. But why would anyone want to work for him? He is clearly not ok to be around.
Its quite an unfortunate tale of how you can be regarded as a heroic figure. Naval officer who served in the Falklands Conflict or being nicknamed the handsome prince. Was born out of desire and not obligation and was seen as the favorite by QEII. Which I think explains why he had no idea of the seriousness of the situation(Newsnight interview) considering how much she shielded him(Remember when he went horseback riding?).
With his birth being an act of genuine desire and not royal necessity made this all so unfortunate for QEII the most. A son she wanted and loved deeply became the one whose life caused her great sorrow.
I mean, let me go find my surprised face that the most entitled child of Queen Elizabeth who has ALWAYS been reported to be the most formal and insistent on his titles is also the one who refuses to give them up.
Deep sea creatures who have never even seen the sunlight could’ve still seen this shit coming.
Of course they will be used in private. Hes giving up nothing. This is all spin to take the attention off the RF.
I mean if I was a rich person with a whole bunch of staff I could make them call me her majesty mess, that doesn’t make it true. Just makes me a sad person.
Feel bad for the people who have to work for him, I imagine it’s not their first choice in a job
Now make him give up any money and assets he didn’t earn through work….so all of it.
He is still His Grace the Duke of York just no longer HRH or Prince.
