CNBC had billionaire Barry Sternlicht on to talk about Zohran:
“We have a big office here ourselves … but the team in New York is for the first time saying maybe we should leave … the unions have to be more accommodative on their work laws and the wages and everything else.”

Pretty sure the system has been very accommodating to you. Lets give the small folk some attention
Lol. Fuck him. A perfect examples as to why these fucks should be heavily taxed.
Oh no. What will they ever do. Instead of making 100million they will only make 60 million this year. Could you imagine the horror?!
Then go, no long drawn out ‘dear john’ letter/speech is needed, just fucking go. I’m certain NY will be fine without you. Just don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split, as you walk out…🤷

Same old idle threats they always make. Try calling their bluff this time and see what happens.
Up till now, the workers have been much too accommodating to the TrickleDowners who’ve no respect for them and who have robbed them for years: That also goes for The Conman

If the city won’t let us grind our workers into the ground for a non-livable wage and no benefits, we’ll leave
Where the fuck would these parasites go? No matter how much money you have, you can’t recreate a cultural center on par with New York City.
Socialism (Social democracy) has worked in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland… You know what hasn’t worked? Fascism.
Okay, bye.
Bahahahahah
Ohhh Barry
You’re based in Miami
And your NY office has 68 employees
You have 7000 employees globally in 25 offices worldwide
What a dick.
I was expecting a well thought out critique of Mamdani. Instead it’s a billionaire saying they want government handouts and fewer worker protections.
Whiny little bitch billionaire.
He’s not a traditional socialist. I don’t think this guy understands what Democratic socialist means. That doesn’t touch businesses. Smh
And we have socialism in our system already. The hell do you think Social Security is? There are many many more socialist programs.
Time to get educated on these concepts so they aren’t misunderstood anymore.
He just showed why conservative policy has always failed. They only see it from a business mindset and how the business needs more money and more freedoms. They don’t look at how to help the smallest person and how that will lift everyone.
Nothing proves you’re doing things right more than snowflake billionaires crying on TV.
Like, imagine dressing up on a suit and going on the news to complain that you’ll be making slightly less money when you have billions of dollars already. Holy fuck.
There’s a famous speech from 1932 where FDR mentions the robber barons made the same threats. “We’ll take our ball and go home” is the best they got. And it’s bullshit. They’re too greedy to give up huge NYC market because of slightly more tax.
If new yorkers leave, then housing prices go down which would make Zorhan right
He’s so entitled
Starwood Capital is based in Miami and has just 350 total employees.
Their New York office is about 14,000sf which is big enough for roughly 100-150 employees.
Is this supposed to be a threat? No one will notice or care if Starwood moves 150 jobs out of New York City.
Threaten to leave NYC? Who are you threatening? What are you Threatening? What do you think happens if you leave NYC? YOU leave NYC, but NYC doesn’t go anywhere. It’s still NYC.
It’s considered not just the center of capital . It’s not just considered the business center of New York. It’s not just considered the business center of America. It’s the world . NYC is considered the business capital of THE WORLD.
Really think through what you’re threatening here.
These investment managers add no real value. Let them leave
Oh, what a crazy disaster that a union has to follow the work laws and the wages…
The idea that the unions have too much power is utterly laughable
Just pay your taxes dude.
I take “how to spot a racist for 500 Alex”
“Ugh I hate that they’re going to force me to pay people living wages”
His core point is that “…otherwise, you can’t add ECONOMICALLY”.
…by which he means that it isn’t feasible in a capitalist system to create housing and other essential infrastructure with unionized workers that have reasonable job safety, security, and living wages.
He is THIS CLOSE to understanding that this realization is what leads us to reject a capitalist system, at least for essential infrastructure.
Anyway what a useless twat. Bye Felicia.
One thing I’m absolutely 100% done with is people like this trying to rationally sane wash destructive policies that harm people. My favorite little nugget? Oh sure I’ll work with unions if they do whatever I want. Not how it works pal, not how it works.
He’s had two massive tax cuts in the last decade, but is ready to leave town over a small tax increase.
Leave! Do it! New York was there before you it will be there without you! Friggin babies
Well, bye.
