  1. TLDR:

    * Vice President JD Vance’s half-brother, Republican Cory Bowman, was handily defeated on Tuesday, Nov. 4, in a long-shot bid to become Cincinnati’s mayor.
    * Aftab Pureval, a Democrat, won reelection with more than 78% of the vote, while Bowman received 22%, according to unofficial results from the Hamilton County Board of Elections.
    * Pureval was first elected in November 2021, when he became the first Asian American to hold the position of mayor of Cincinnati. Prior to running for mayor, he worked as an attorney.

  2. This makes me wonder how well JD Vance would perform in an election without Trump.

  3. Being related to a politician is the ultimate DEI hire and he still fucked it up.

  4. The entire party revolves around Trump and Trump only.

  5. JD got where he is by telling us how shit he family was. Turns out the nation agrees with him on something.

  6. An endorsement from the administration is a career death sentence

No real American will trust anyone endorsed by the clowns currently in the White House

  7. I feel like there needs to be a new term beyond “landslide” to describe the disparity. Vance’s half brother lost by over 50 points.

  8. Cincinnatian here. A large part of the local hatred for Vance could well be that he creates a traffic lockdown scar across the city every other week when he visits.

  9. “If he was my full brother he would have won, there’s only so much I can do”

  10. I mean, he was never going to win Cincinnati but only getting 22% of the vote was a pretty resounding no at least.

  11. As soon as Trump passes way, his cult dies too. Vance doesn’t have the charisma(?) that tRump send to have over his cult followers

  12. So it’s reported that JD didn’t even cast a ballot in Ohio in that election. So he didn’t come out and support his brother.

  13. Can you imagine voting for Great Value Vance? You couldn’t waterboard that outta me.

  14. lol does he have a name? Sheesh, it’s like Juan’s roommate.

  15. No, losing an election by like 20 points is a landslide.

Losing by over 50 points (78-22%) is getting dog-walked. You could fit TWO of his voter turnout numbers in the space between his loss and the winner’s numbers. That’s a shame that should not only drive him out of politics forever, but follow him to the end of his days.

  16. Everyone hates JD Vance. It even spills over to his half-brother.

    Loser

  17. The best thing about JD Vance is how he’s portrayed on South Park

  18. The eyeliner vote did not materialize? And the *ahem* furniture enthusiasts? No? How about the spineless sycophants? Huh?

  19. 78% to 22%. Now that’s a proper landslide!

Trump only got 49.8% against Kamala’s 48.3%. I actually forgot it was that close. That’s not a “mandate” from the people.

  20. >Democrat Aftab Pureval was reelected with more than 78% of the vote, while Bowman secured 22% of the vote

You should take numbers that bad personally because it’s you.

  21. Vance fell assbackwards into that position even tho he’s a complete fucking moron. What made his half brother think that he had a chance? Good lord. Our lives are hurting and will hurt more because of stupid people. It’s pathetic. Apparently we deserve to lose. ‘We have to fight! We have to vote! We have to call our representatives! We need to convince MAGA! We have to do things! It’s up to the citizens!’ I’m fucking tired and stressed the hell out and depressed. And nothing I’ve been doing affects anything actually. Idiocy and evil has been winning for a long time now and it’s become futile to fight. Ya I’ll vote. Sure I’ll protest. But deep down I know how useless it is.

  22. I mean, people just don’t like Vance. His endorsement would be poison.

  23. He’s not the man his brother is.

    He only fucked a recliner.

  24. Just the icing on the cake.

Last night’s election results indicate a sharp rebuke of Trump and his policies.

Keep in mind that this isn’t just a matter of, “Democrats were expected to win these elections, try harder libs!” Because gains were made in almost every county when compared with how those counties voted in the presidential election.

Not to mention that the clean sweep extended to elections in places like PA where Democrats retained a state supreme Court majority, and even in states like Georgia where Democrats won two seats on the Public Service Commission; positions that were previously controlled by Republicans for over two decades…

Trump can also thank himself for hopefully emboldening some fresh democratic leaders willing to break from the status quo.

Trump’s approval ratings have been consistently underwater throughout his entire term and there has been an indication of support for progressive, reformist and leftist candidates in response to Trump’s kleptocratic and authoritarian policies.

He’s failed to address the problems that Americans care most about in any sort of fundamental way, and as made evident by the fact that Americans overwhelmingly disapprove of his handling of nearly every issue; including immigration and the economy—the issues he primarily campaigned on.

Instead, he has been mostly fixated on pageantry, pomp and circumstance; on exploiting his power to obstruct justice; on using his office to enrich himself, his family, and his wealthy benefactors; on covering up his corruption scandals; on weaponizing the government against his political opponents and federalizing the military to carry out his unconstitutional whims, and among other things, on transforming the presidency into a dictatorship.

Turns out, these things aren’t very popular…

  25. Just like JD Vance will lose in a landslide when he’s running for president. The man has no redeeming qualities.
