1. The Kremlin clique wants to stay in power by creating the illusion that they ‘ help defending Russia against russiaphobia of the west’, while in truth they created the whole current mess themselves by ordering an invasion of a neighboring country.

   It’s akin to suddenly randomly burning down one of your neighbors sheds, and then start complaining the neighbors are being ‘unreasonable hostile’ towards you after that.
