Russian Shahed was flying into a civilian high-rise building, but was hit by an Ukrainian anti-aircraft interceptor drone in the last moment

  1. Ukraine: saving civilians.
    Russia: targeting civilians.

  2. Where’s the info of it being an interceptor drone coming from? Looks to be too fast to be a drone, but would look normal for SAM

  3. Damn, once they get mass produced we might see a massive reduction in shahed effectiveness.

Somewhat Cheap drone bomb vs what cheap drone interceptor, by comparison to traditional interceptors and missiles, is a solid counter.

  4. Ukraine needs its own iron dome. tells you a lot about how effective russki propaganda was on the west when the “second mightiest army” uses the same tactics as goat molesting terrorists and we are still too chickenshit to do something about it.

  5. > Russian Shahed was flying into a civilian high-rise building

Im sorry but at this point this is “embellishing” from rule 3.

Yes, it looks like its going to hit the building, but only point of reference we have is flat building and blue sky, you cant judge distance/depth from that, especially when there is variable zoom and you cant compare size of the drone to the features of the building as they are never in the same frame.

As far as we know, this could be 100m behind the building, but it could also hit the building.

    Suggestion:
    > Russian Shahed on a terminal dive was hit by an Ukrainian anti-aircraft interceptor drone in the last moment

  6. Not sure if that’s a Stinger or just a missile hard to tell from the footage. But yeah, interceptor drones are clearly becoming the go-to counter for Shahed style drones. It’s a much more sustainable approach than firing expensive interceptors and playing a zero-sum economics game you’re bound to lose in the long run

  7. Any chance this was an IRIS-T? Using a rocket that costs up to 500k€ to intercept a drone that Swetlana built in a shed at a cost of ~25k€ each.

    That’s another level of attrition…
