1. Any form of just throwing chemicals into the atmosphere is a recipe for disaster and unintended consequences. 

   The only real “solar geoenginering” I would consider is the use of solar panels to create shade or partial shade thus effectively lowering the intensity on the region.
   But in some regions that shaded area might actually be better for crops.

3. People love to talk about the risks of atmospheric radiation management, which seem mild and tuneable to me (we can choose the dosage), but they never talk about the risks of not doing it. How many category 5 hurricanes could we avoid? How many drought days in the Amazon?

4. Don’t the scientists watch movies? The dystopian ones came because of climate modification. Most known – The Matrix. Mad Max, A Boy and his Dog.

5. This should be in r/NoShitSherlock . Humans think they can control things they have no understanding of. And every time they try the law of unintended consequences bites them severely in the ass.

   Humans have been actively managing the environment for centuries. We take it slowly, do appropriate testing and reviews. I’d wager in the coming decades we’ll take active measures to modify the climate, white arctic ocean coverage, carbon capture, reflective seeding. When the category 6 hurricane rolls over your house those will seem like reasonable uses of time and money.

8. Even in the right hands, solving atmospheric climate change won’t stop the ceaseless destruction and fragmentation of natural habitats from modern capitalist-driven human development. Many regions of this Earth have a biodiversity crisis that reducing greenhouse gases alone won’t solve.

9. The governments of the world will never agree on an action plan to diminish solar radiation. It will undoubtedly be some rogue group or nation that will do it. Imagine your nation is going to disappear under the waves in a few years. Seems motivation enough to run your own experiment. What do you have to lose?
