I remember when they first appeared in our store, back when I worked there. There were a handful of designs all to be displayed on the end of aisle displays. All had the word “Wow!”, in some way or another. I can only remember this one and a comic book design one, but there were a few others as well.
As far as I know they were there to help catch your eye for the display underneath. The idea 20 years ago was for the end of the aisle to display the bargains and stock that we thought we the “best” bargains, or a display that would best catch the customers attention.
It’s a sailboat, right guys?
Inclusivity?
Home Bargains sponsor the Super League team St Helens. The point of the boards is to help them recruit potential referees. If you’re colour-blind, you’d fit right into the referees department. They frequently get muddled between red and yellow cards, or between the white of the rugby ball and the green of the grass. /s

you mean you don’t do your eye test at your local discount shop?
I don’t see anything..
What does it say ?
Does it say WOW?
Wow
Very excited to see the move away from everything must be grey.
I can read the wow, but the first w is very hard to make out.
Also how will a colour blind person know they have failed or passed?
It’s weird to make signs that around 5% of people can’t read.
Does it say ‘live, laugh, love’?
If so, first time I’m glad to be colour blind.
Just doing their bit I suppose.
I’ve never ever noticed that in my local store, maybe I need my eyes tested.
Someone posted this two years ago on Reddit (different photo). Has no one thought to ask the staff that work there?

Googled to see if there’s some sort of awareness campaign, and instead just found that [it might be two years old](https://www.reddit.com/r/ColorBlind/comments/16e71p7/what_does_this_say_found_in_home_bargains_and/)
That’s so odd lol
Oh WOW, didn’t see that

For my colour blind compadres
Why is there a picture of a schooner?
Please tell me that if you are colour blind it says a rude word.
You’d be amazed at how many people do not know they’re colourblind so this is actually a public service
Home bargains coming through for the nation yet again
Thats easy to read, it says ‘colour blind test #7’ guess im not colourblind
I work in head office and have just raised the question within my team. No one knows why lol.
