  10. What’s the penalty for officer > prisoner relationships? Is it always prison time, or does it depend on the nature of the relationship, i.e if sensitive information was shared, drugs brought in?

  13. What’s up with so many female prison guards in the UK having sex with criminals, helping them sell drugs etc.? I know there’s factors like how posh women usually don’t become prison guards, but come on! Are they really so stupid? Do they really not understand that their actions will have consequences? Do they enjoy having their names and faces on the Internet with the description “THIS WOMAN HAD SEX WITH A PRISONER”? Is it a fetish? I mean, at that point you just have to change your name?? What the hell?

  16. Is it still news anymore, it seems every couple of weeks there is yet another female prison officer shagging the inmates, Surely now its more news worthy if they find a female prison officer who hasn’t banged most of the inmates,

  19. I know someone who worked for the prison service for decades. They said that guard/ prisoner relationships are, and have always been, a massive issue. They said that often its the prisoners who have anti-social or malignant personalities, they’re actually brilliant con-men or women and having little else to do they can afford to play the long game to get a guard under their influence.

    They said some guards are also motivated by bad character but often its just unsuitable people are being recruited who are too easily led by flattery, sob-stories or intimidation.

    Overall, I’ve not been told anything about working in a prison that makes me think it would be a good idea for the average person!
