The 47th edition of Interliber, the International Book and Reading Fair, will take place at Zagreb Fair (Zagrebački velesajam) from 11 to 16 November, once again bringing together publishers, booksellers, authors and literature lovers from across Croatia and beyond. Entry to the event is free for all visitors.
At a press conference held at the Dubrovnik Hall of Zagreb Fair, Deputy Mayor Luka Korlaet announced that this year’s Interliber will be the most impressive yet, with 350 exhibitors from 15 countries showcasing their latest titles and programmes across four exhibition pavilions.
“Interliber is not just a book fair, but a cultural forum featuring a wide range of accompanying events – panels, workshops, concerts and exhibitions,” Korlaet said.

Among this year’s special guests will be Paul Lynch, winner of the 2023 Booker Prize for his acclaimed novel Prophet Song. The fair will also highlight women’s voices in literature through the Interliber Book Club “Do You Read Women?”, as well as a vibrant children’s programme titled “I’ll Tell You a Story – A Fairy Tale in Our Hands.”
Korlaet emphasised Interliber’s role in promoting the culture of reading in today’s fast-paced, digital world.
“Reading a book means stopping, dedicating time, and gaining a deeper understanding of the world around us. Interliber’s mission is to inspire that connection,” he said.
He also noted that the City of Zagreb considers reading culture a fundamental civic value, underscored by the upcoming Paromlin City Library project, a modern, next-generation library and future “urban living room” that will serve as a year-round complement to Interliber.

All highlighted the fair’s continued growth and its key role in supporting Croatia’s literary and publishing scene.
