Swiss railway company SBB has recently revealed the details of its upcoming service from Basel to Malmö via Germany and Denmark. Now we know how much it will cost to travel on that route.
From April 15th, 2026, the SBB will operate a night train “from Basel SBB to Copenhagen and Malmö, all year round, three times a week and in both directions,” the company said.
Here are the details of the 1400-km route:
“Departure from Basel SBB will take place every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 5:35 pm, arriving in Malmö at 9:35 am the following day,” the SBB said.
On its way to Malmö, the train will stop in five cities in Germany, and five in Denmark:

“From Malmö, the train will depart on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Mondays at 6:57 pm, arriving at Basel SBB at 11:30 a.m. the following day. The EuroNight has approximately 350 seats in sleeping cars, couchette cars, and seated cars.”
How much will tickets cost from Basel?
The SBB is using dynamic pricing, which is based on the refund conditions and the occupancy of the train in the corresponding comfort category.
“It’s worth booking early and traveling during the off-season because prices are lower when the train is less full,” the company said.

These are the listed one-way prices for the entire route; passengers getting on or off at intermediary stations will pay less :
Standard seat (no reservation): from 38 francs
Berth: from 53 francs (6-berth compartment), 62 francs (4-berth compartment), and 224 francs for a private space
Sleeping car: from 86 francs (3-berth compartment), 95 francs (2-berth compartment)
Private cabin: minimum 129 francs
