Can’t have your cake and eat it, too, I suppose. What if the cake is at risk of disappearing completely?
Can we stop talking/caring about Bill Gates already. He’s a capitalist, he’s motivated by growth. His belief system does not allow for a sustainable earth, or economy for that matter.
There aren’t any good billionaires. Zero. None.
He didn’t say climate change wasn’t real or a real problem, he said we would survive or at least the rich would.
Not the animals, the climate or a good portion of the world, just the rich, the rest will live in mad max.
This article is the first one I’ve seen to accurately characterize what is actually written in the Gates memo, fwiw. He’s treating climate change as a very serious problem which we have made some progress on.
Its a memo to the bourgeoisie. Not the proletariat.
Scientists are on the proletariat side.
So like Elmo, you become a billionaire and you think you’re the next Einstein.
I wonder if the reason is Microsoft and AI. He was fine with supporting it when cloud data centers offered efficiency, now it is a huge power waste.
