  1. Extortion!

Republicans have betrayed any values they claim to have.

  2. Even 3rd world dictators are not as brazen about their corruption as DJT is. I swear to God, this is the most dystopian timeline in American history.

  3. He is so corrupt and not even hiding it. He more than likely got a piece of the company and others when he makes these so called deals

  4. Taxes, Bribes, and State control of Industry are Republican values now.

  5. He invited them there because he wants them to produce medications for his TrumpRx.

  6. The increase in brutal honesty from Trump aligns with his dementia. As dementia gets worse, the filter gets thinner and thinner until they just start spilling whatever comes to mind. The only reason I know any history about my grandma is because when her dementia got worse she started telling me all the secrets she hid her whole life and why – in her native language no one knew was her native language

  7. Thats a very communist and marxist act for a president to do, of course, he would say the US would be the part owner, but before leaving office would most likely transfer ownership to a separate entity that is owned by multiple shell companies that ultimately end with a Trump name after sifting thru all the fake businesses

Weird that a leader who labels his political adversaries communist and Marxist would ever commit such a hypocritical thing /s

  8. Just the president asking for a bribe on national TV in the Oval Office. What a prick.

  9. Surely *extortion* doesn’t fall under “official acts”…

  10. And now he’s got the Donald as a partner.

    Fuck you, pay me.

  11. He’s been openly engaging in all manner of crime for his entire life and there have never been any significant consequences. He thinks he’s invincible because he is. What has happened that would make him think differently?

  12. >It’s unclear how serious Trump is about asking for a piece of the pharmaceutical giant, but his government has already taken [stakes](https://newrepublic.com/article/200025/trump-state-capitalism-intel-steel-democrats) in several [American companies](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-administration-now-holds-stakes-023008085.html), including U.S. Steel, Intel, Trilogy Metals, Lithium Americas, and MP Materials.

    LOL.

He’s partially nationalising companies. Where are the people screeching about commie governments owning the means of production now?

  13. They were so mad about Mamdani but government control of companies is about as textbook socialist as it gets.

  14. It is more than a little ironic that the Republican party, which champions capitalism and has vehemently denounced socialism and communism, is now advocating for government ownership of corporations.

  15. It’s almost like socialism but on a national level. National socialism perhaps.

  16. This admin has stakes in 5 major companies already, that we know of. Remember, it’s not seizing means of productions for them, it’s, umm, Nationalist socialism. Not to be confused with the “other” national socialist party from Germany a while back, of course. They’re just doing Nazi stuff, but don’t want to be called Nazis, it hurts their feelings.

  17. Which one? I’m sure more than one have been talking about this with him.

  18. I guess he was right when he said he could shoot someone and wouldn’t lose any voters

  19. Exactly what Putin did to the oligarchs. What a coincidence.

  20. So is getting shaken down by Trump less expensive than paying taxes?

  21. When a government demands shares or ownership stakes from company CEOs (or their companies), it usually happens under one of a few distinct political or economic systems. Here are the main types of governments that do this:

    1. Authoritarian or State-Controlled Economies

Governments with centralized power often require private companies to give the state (or its officials) a share of ownership or profit.

    Examples: China, Russia, Venezuela.

    2. Hybrid or “Crony Capitalist” Regimes

These systems have a mix of private and state power, where government officials informally demand equity in exchange for access, permits, or contracts.

Examples: Southeast Asian autocracies (e.g., Cambodia, Myanmar, or pre-2018 Malaysia under Najib Razak), African kleptocracies (e.g., Equatorial Guinea, Zimbabwe under Mugabe)

    3. Socialist or Communist Systems

In fully socialist or communist models, the government owns most or all means of production — so companies aren’t privately held at all.

Examples: Cuba, North Korea, Former Soviet Union.

    4. Legal or Quasi-Legal “Local Ownership” Rules

Some democracies use formal laws requiring partial local or government ownership — though not typically demanded personally from CEOs.

Examples: Indonesia and Botswana, United Arab Emirates or Saudi Arabia.

  22. So he wanted a share of a Danish company for free. First Greenland, and now this… he really has an issue of Denmark.

  23. Remind me, what’s it called when the government owns the means of production?

  24. Remember he tried to get Zelenskyy to badmouth the Bidens in trade for military assistance. Should be in prison for countless crimes

  25. I like how they are getting out in front of the famine they are causing by the high price of groceries and cutting food assistance and the coming recession by selling weight loss drugs in the Oval Office. Yes, according to doctor Oz the total amount of weight they are claiming these drugs would bring is a 300lbs average for every American. It’s crazy how Trump got rid of Michelle Obamas program for more nutritious school lunches but are now promoting drugs to loose weight and be healthy. They make my head hurt so bad that I need a Tylenol now… oh wait, that might make a brain worm and cause autism/s
