Boris Johnson has Not Been a ‘Great War Leader’ – Byline Times

  1. the fact we aren’t at war is part of that.
Did Alastair Campbell contribute to this? He was happy to tell Tony Blair not to let people prevent him from becoming a great wartime leader, when encouraging him to attack Iraq. If you recall that incident, where Britian invaded a country on a load of trumped up pretexts, a bit like Putin did when he attacked Ukraine.

  2. Between wine and cheese meetings, the guy probably plays with a load of toy tanks on a rug in number 10 under a picture of Churchill and Thatcher making pew pew and explosion noises.

Its the closest hes going to get.

  3. I mean, the Ukrainians (both the population and their Government) think he’s been a fantastic leader in respect of their war. Someone writing for Byline who inherently doesn’t like the Tories so is going to say “nah he’s shit innit” in all circumstances doesn’t really change that.

  4. This pure Tory,Murdoch,Torygraph, and the Daily Smail propaganda giving the impression that Boris Johnson is a second Churchill is insult to Churchill and to the Nation. The man is a buffoon and clown leading bigots and entitled wet weeks.

  5. Because he has not had to lead during a war. It’s great that we have sent arms to Ukraine but anyone could have done that. Johnson has not had to produce any brilliant military strategy, he has just had to OK weapons deals with Ukraine. It is why it is perfectly acceptable to talk about him stepping down during this conflict.

  6. He isn’t a good war leader he’s just trying to capitalise on the near universal support for Ukraine. While I’m quite happy with how he’s responded to the war, I’m not happy about a thousand other things, and it’s not exactly like anything Johnson has personally done to help. Anyone else can sign those contracts and enact sanctions and whatever, it’s not unique to him.

Stop using it as an excuse to avoid scrutiny at home.

  7. Genuine question: has he ever done anything well? I honestly can’t find any evidence of him doing anything but failing upward off the back of a school tie.

  8. If he was the prime minister of a country at war, it would be a start. Ukraine already has a great wartime leader though so I don’t think they require his services.

His actions have gone some way to removing his nose from pootin’s arse though.

  9. He has led the response against Russia.

    More left wing tosh!

Boris is doing an amazing job <3

  10. Why should he be? Britain isn’t at war, The Ukraine/Russia conflict has absolutely nothing to do with us, no matter how hard the media tries to force the issue
