Yeah really does feel like our public services are collapsing or have already collapsed and no one seems to care.
Have to say problem with GP land is they negotiated too well in the past when they jettisoned out of hours work. They are in a position now with nothing much more left to bargain with hence the work to rule rhetoric . This is having a real and tangible effect with increased pressure shifted onto emergency departments resulting in the current broken state of huge numbers of trolley waits, awful times to be seen and general patient dissatisfaction . It’s not all primary care’s fault, but a fair bit is……
Alot of people forget that GPs are contracted by the HSCNI (NHS) & not employed directly. GP organisations were saying years ago that it the service will inevitably break & they made have to start charging for services, seems likes its going to be sooner rather than later.
HSC is interfering with hard fought tee times.
My GP is difficult to get appointment with unless it is a real emergency. I have never suffered as a consequence of not getting through first thing. My nonagenarian FIL registered 40 miles away but staying with us was given full support that saved his life this week. I’ve maligned my surgery in the past but now I know how they react to patients who can’t wait.
Why the fuck are they only doing 6.25 hours of work when the average person does 7.5-8. Pricks
There’s a lot of far shite going around in Newry at the minute. This could be something like that
I’d report spam… To my MLA
A GP practice should not use its access to patient data to broadcast political messaging.
For those who are interested, I would suggest looking into the unique way that GP surgeries are operated, the average earnings of GPs and the uplift agreed to the 2026 budget.
GPs are lazy bollocks compared to most in the NHS…
All for collective action but this seems disingenuous. Having your practice manager, your employee, tell your end users that you, the practice owners, are going on strike? Sorry but get fucked.
You’re a contractor. Settle your differences with no impact to the end user. Otherwise fuck off.
I have no sympathy for GPs. They abuse the system for their financial gain knowing full well that their patients suffer for it
There is but it is kind of weird that they texted you about it.
To be fair to the GP’s, they are (Or at least have been) seeing way too many patients for a long time, and it ISN’T safe. I’ve been on the receiving end of the fall out of bad service due to it, in my opinion, but I was understanding about it because my practice has lost a lot of GP’s in a fairly short period of time.
We aren’t producing enough doctors over wasters. That’s why we need immigrants from other countries. But then the loyalists torch them from their homes and cry when granny dies in a corridor.
