The flights will be operated with the A330-200 aircraft with a capacity for 269 passengers, on the Lisbon – Curitiba – Rio de Janeiro – Lisbon route, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Sales begin on November 11.
“TAP’s new route reinforces Paraná’s leading role on the global stage. This direct connection with Portugal from Lisbon will boost tourism, facilitate the arrival of European visitors, and expand business opportunities with Europe,” says the governor of the state of Paraná, Ratinho Junior.
In turn, Carlos Antunes, TAP’s director for the Americas, acknowledges that “Brazil is a strategic market of enormous relevance to our global operation,” and thus, he added, with the inauguration of the new route to Curitiba, “we are expanding our presence in the country, which already has several connections between Brazilian capitals and European cities, through Lisbon and Porto,” also emphasizing that “this expansion reinforces our commitment to strengthening the historical, cultural, and economic ties between Portugal and Brazil.” The manager also pointed out that “we want to be increasingly closer to Brazilians, offering them a differentiated travel experience, with more connectivity options, comfort, and efficiency to Europe and beyond.”
With the inclusion of Curitiba, TAP now flies to 14 cities in Brazil, consolidating its position as the European airline with the largest offering of flights in the country, and reaffirming its role as an air bridge between Europe and South America, marking another important step in the company’s expansion strategy.
