> He then added her to a sick group chat with like minded paedophiles where he ‘revelled’ in what had happened.
There really needs to be some follow up reports from journalists in articles like this.
As in, how many other arrests have been made that were part of this same group?
Kudos to the victims mum for spotting something was wrong and inspecting the girls phone. Parents need to stay vigilant with their kids mobile devices and computer usage.

Near enough ever comment on this is “doesn’t fit your narrative, eh Reform?”
Can’t let a good tragedy go to waste. A child has been brutally assaulted and people here seem to be relieved that the perpetrator was white. How can people read this article and not have sympathy for the victim ad the first thought in their head.
This is why the like of Farage, Reform, Yaxley-Lennon seriously. They do not care about the issue.
I hope she gets the support that she requires, and it goes to show why we must look to prevent this type of grooming and provide the necessary care to the survivors.
Predictable comments
>two sides trying to score points
>execute them all comments
Neither looking at preventive measures and neither seem to care about the victims. Abuse is rampant in this country and preventive measures are desperately needed. Better security for children online along with education, mental health outreach to people with criminal urges to get them treated before they act (perhaps with restrictive or monitored internet access to prevent these crimes), more involved and active parenting (admiringly the mum caught it here but a 13 year old should not have unrestricted access).
Oh ny heart breaks reading her victim impact statement quotes 12 is so young and innocent. Poor girl. Good on her mum for checking her phone. I hope she is surrounded by support and given the space to heal
Can anyone explain to me the difference between a paedophile ring (which sounds like a type of doughnut) and grooming gang (which sounds like a hairdressers’ union)?
Funny how the title doesn’t include “White Man” like what the media does with other criminals of other races and groups. I don’t care if I get down voted for this.
Some people are always gonna do fucked up shit but the fact there are so many of these stories shows that we generally aren’t doing very well on both education on the importance of consent from a young age, and also aren’t giving big enough legal repurcussions to dissuade people who want to do it from going through with it.
Like, this should be a “you are never seeing the light of day again” level crime, but he’s probably gonna be back on the streets in less than a decade
This is disgusting. We need deterrents. People are way too bold when doing such evil things.
Once again I see people saying we need more derrents, tougher sentencing etc..
Sorry to tell you that no deterrent is going to stop people like this. Those who chose to commit these kinds of crimes will do so regardless of any “derrents”
More derrents is not what we need, neither is tougher sentencing, more censorship, more violation of our rights to privacy.
What we desperately need is a willingness for parents to take responsibility and stop looking at the Government and Schools to do their job for them.
Most kids are taught the dangers starting in primary school and right throughout Secondary and honestly, schools do a very good job but they can only do so much.
Parents really need to step up and take responsibility. It is their job to monitor what their kids are doing on their phone / computers etc..
There are so many tools available to help parents to limit what their kids can access and to see what they are doing / watching yet the unwillingness to spend an evening researching and learning how to use these tools is staggering.
