Not sure if it looks like your guys banitsa, but it was really tasty. But does anyone have storage tips? I stored it in the fridge when I stopped eating but now it's not as crunchy/flakey as before. it's still really good but do you guys just eat it all at once?

  1. Looks good at first glance. But it is eaten with hand – no forks. If you need a fork to eat it, it’s not banitsa.

  2. As a Bulgarian I see this cheese brand for the first time

  3. Great job. Usually it’s a family meal, so not too much left. I store in an airtight container in the fridge and it helps.

  4. looks delicious

you can try to sprinkle it with some water and put it in the oven to reheat. i do it with bread and baguettes, and it works, idk if it will work for banitsa

  5. Banitza will not stay crispy after the fridge. You can toast it in the oven again to make it crispy. Yes. It is hard to have leftovers!

  6. It looks a bit undercooked to me, but it might be due to a common mistake I’ve seen when preparing banitsa – all ingredients need to be at room temperature when you prepare it, before putting it in the oven.

I will also say that the twisted version of banitsa is tryharding it, *especially* if you’re new at making it. The “bathed” version is not only much easier to prepare, but it’s just as delicious. I can give you a recipe of preparing it, if you want.

I don’t know why you included a photo of yoghurt. I don’t use it as an ingredient for banitsa!

  7. Looks good! Maybe a bit longer in the oven?

And unfortunately nah once its cold it wont be as crunchy again 🙁 so invite some friends and eat as much as possible and then the leftovers you have for breakfast the next day

  8. It doesn’t look good. Try putting some of the mixture on top and add some butter otherwise it is too dry.
